Station 116 had the unique privileged of having a "ride a long" join us for the day. Ben came to the station on Saturday and participated on all of the fun that firefighters have during a 48 hour shift. We started the day off with a nap so we would be all rested up for the Saturday afternoon movie marathon. After our nap we played a rousing game of wally ball at the Rec. Center. It lasted about 2 hours. Because we were so exhausted from the wally ball we decided we would eat out for dinner instead of cook for ourselves (work hard play hard right, or hold on a sec, oh ya play hard and let someone else make you dinner, or something like that). After dinner we went back to the station to watch Ultimate Fighting Championship. Just as we sat down we were rudely interrupted by a man having a seizure. I mean gosh couldn't he have waited til' a commercial. Anyway, this man was really floppin like a fish out of water and he was all the way up at the Spruces Campground. When we got there the man was out of seizure and doing just fine. We still transported the man to the hospital and all Ben could think about was this poor man needs a blessing. Ben is a true man of the cloth. Just kidding. We had a good time with Ben and we hope he comes back for another ride a long.

Funny guy...Jon Fitch is a funny guy! I'm sure a blessing was the LAST thing on his mind-He wanted to slide down the pole some more! He looks like a giddy little boy on a field trip though, doesn't he? He is SO cute!
How lucky is Ben. It sounds like fun, well at least the ride looks like fun.
You gotta love Utah. I mean really only in Utah would you have someone like that. Not that its a bad thing but WOW!
A big thanks to Jon and station 116! I had a great time and I am always amazed at everything the fire fighter do for people. I used to think that all they did was fight fire but they handle all the medical needs of people as well. It always seems the ambulance is just there for transport for when the fire fighters are done stabilizing people. Props go out to all fire fighters.-Ben
A ride along......Alan has done that many times with the Sheriff's deptartment but never a firetruck. I think all of the waiting around till the buzzer goes off would drive him insane.....but then again he would take advantage of the "reading" time.
