Yesterday Engine 116 responded to a cyclist who crashed into a deer. The cyclist was traveling down the canyon at approximately 40mph. The man was stable but suffered several injuries. His helmet was crushed which was a big concern for us. We flew the man to University by AirMed and I haven't heard how he is doing. We all had free venison for dinner that night though. ( Just kidding). We did visit with family and friends of the deer and we gave them our condolences.

That is so cool. When Ben heard the story on the news he was looking for you...Then of course he laughed and said it was the bikers own fault! He hates bikers. I can't imagine hitting a deer going 40mph on a bike.
Fun parade too - good thing we keep you guys around to be a float in the parade, how fun for you :-)
